Taking a break in Tucson

Took a break in our drive back to Denver and walked around the Saguaro National Park outside of Tucson AZ. The dogs loved the smells but kept straying too close to the cactus for my comfort.

Andy vs the ocean

Over the holidays we drove out to California with the two dogs. Being born in a plains state and living in Colorado, Andy has never seen the ocean before.

He's seen the lakes and rivers of the Rockies, but wanted nothing to do with getting wet. On top of that this water moved. He wasn't convinced this was a good idea.

And then he saw the sand pipers feeding along the surf. that's all it took to get him over his apprehension concerning the ocean. It was still a big shock when we tried to take a drink and it was salty.
